Houston Texans’ aggressive offseason moves are spelling a new era

Since the end of the arrival of quarterback Deshaun Watson, Houston Texans’ fans have yearned for management and ownership to build a reliable offensive line around him, but all they have received are cheap signings and iffy draft picks.

After the departure of general manager Brian Gaine and the Nick Caserio debacle, owner Cal McNair decided to put a team in place to act as one general manager. Those four men are executive vice president of team development Jack Easterby, director of player personnel Matt Bazirgan, director of college scouting James Liipfert, and senior vice president of football administration Chris Olsen, though head coach Bill O’Brien is in charge of any kind of player personnel changes.
