Former Texans WR DeAndre Hopkins hits free-agent market

Former Houston Texans Pro Bowler DeAndre Hopkins will begin looking for a new team after being released by the Arizona Cardinals on Friday. In an official statement, the Cardinals listed their failure to find a trade partner for Hopkins as one of the reasons for deciding to part ways with the wide receiver.

Speculation of the Cardinals looking to trade Hopkins had been circulating for months, and the 30-year-old recently gave a hint at what he's looking for during an appearance on the “I Am Athlete” podcast.

Hopkins said that he wants the next team he plays for to have a quarterback “who loves the game” and “brings everybody on board with him and pushes not just himself, but everybody around him.
