Jonathan Babineaux grew up in Port Arthur, so if inclined he could have regaled his Atlanta teammates with glory days football stories from these parts, as the Falcons seek their own glory in Super Bowl LI against New England on Sunday night in NRG Stadium.
Babineaux only could have shared fabled local stories from high school, however. The Super Bowl would have to be played in, say, Chicago for any glory days college escapades via the defensive tackle.
"A lot of schools in Texas backed off of me after I was injured my senior year," Babineaux said of his final season at Port Arthur Lincoln in the fall of 1999.
