The Texans walked away from the 2020 NFL Draft with five new players, including at least two – second-round pick Ross Blacklock and third-round pick Jonathan Greenard – they hope will be able to contribute immediately.
The Texans followed the script, grabbing players at the team’s most pressing areas of need.
They hope Blacklock can step in and fill the hole at defensive tackle left when D.J. Reader bolted in free agency. Greenard also will be counted on to bolster the pass rush around the edge as an outside linebacker.
The Texans will be hoping the other players drafted can be used as depth at first and eventually develop into reliable players.
