A little less than three months ago, the Arizona Cardinals looked like the best team in football and Texans fans had to start considering the possibility of former Houston fan favorites J.J. Watt and DeAndre Hopkins finally getting to play in a Super Bowl.
Instead, Watt, Hopkins and the Cardinals, who started the season 7-0, had a very Texans-like ending to their season.
The Cardinals stumbled into the playoffs, losing four of their final five regular season games, then got routed in the first round, losing to the Rams, 34-11, on Monday night.
Since the Cardinals put on their ski mask and robbed Bill O’Brien and the Texans of Hopkins in a lopsided 2020 trade, they have yet to have any postseason success, going 8-8 and missing the playoffs in Hopkins’ first year, then falling apart late this season.
