Former NBA center and current ESPN personality Kendrick Perkins stirred controversy last week with his criticism of Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud. Perkins now claims his comments prompted retaliation from members of the Texans' organization.

Perkins, a proud Southeast Texas native, criticized Stroud's performance in an early-October episode of the LGND TLK Show with legendary Houston rapper Lil' Keke and former Texans star offensive lineman Duane Brown. Perkins claimed Stroud is "not that quarterback that’s gonna take the Texans to the promised land," adding that Stroud has "regressed" since his standout rookie season in 2023.
