The NFL draft process and the prospects of joining his older brother as a Texans quarterback never gave Derek Carr any anticipation that would become a reality.
When the Oakland Raiders Pro Bowl quarterback was available three years ago in the second round, the Texans passed on him at 33rd overall and drafted UCLA offensive lineman Xavier Su'a-Filo. Three picks later, the Fresno State standout joined the Raiders.
Now, he'll square off with the team that once employed his older brother, David Carr, on Monday night at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City.
"I didn't think so," Carr said when asked if he thought the Texans might draft him.
