Brock Osweiler, Lamar Miller, and DeAndre Hopkins played three series in Sunday’s preseason opener against the San Francisco 49ers, before leaving the game early in the second quarter.
Osweiler was 4-of-7 for 27 yards with no touchdowns, no turnovers and a 65.8 passer rating in his Texans debut.
Miller rushed for 30 yards on four carries, averaging 7.5 yards. Miller's explosiveness was put on display with a 14-yard gain on the first offensive play of the game.
The starting quarterback left the game with 12:59 left in the second quarter, orchestrating two drives into 49ers territory but unable to score.
