Bill O'Brien not alarmed by Brock Osweiler's debut performance

Running a scaled-back playbook and operating behind an injury-depleted offensive line, Texans quarterback Brock Osweiler didn't have the strong debut that the Texans envisioned.

In his first game with the Texans since being signed to a four-year, $72 million contract that included $37 million guaranteed, Osweiler attempted just seven passes with four completions for 27 yards and a 65.8 passer rating with no touchdowns or interceptions.

Osweiler was under some duress Sunday night at Levi's Stadium, sacked once when backup right tackle Kendall Lamm was beaten by San Francisco 49ers veteran outside linebacker Ahmad Brooks.

Osweiler's top throw was a long pass intended for Pro Bowl wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins, but it was broken up along the sideline.
