America loves watching the Cowboys lose. NFL's TV ratings prove it.

As usual, the NFL's TV ratings are bonkers. Ratings for the just-completed regular season were up 10% over the previous season, averaging 17.2 million viewers per game, which is the highest regular season average since 2015. The top 16 most-watched telecasts during the NFL regular season were all NFL games, as were 91 of the top 100.

The NFL attributed the spike in numbers to closer games than usual - an NFL-record 34 games were decided by a game-winning score on the final play and 49 games were decided by a score in the final minute, which is tied for the most all-time.
