The Houston Texans were excited to add a former Super Bowl winner to their standout secondary in the offseason. However, after three games and over $7 million paid, C.J. Gardner-Johnson was unceremoniously cut in September.
After getting blown out by the Texans 44-10 on Sunday, the Baltimore Ravens decided to give the now outcast defender a shot on their depleted roster.
On Tuesday, the Ravens signed Gardner-Johnson to their practice squad, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported on social media. It is understood that Gardner-Johnson will still receive his fully guaranteed 2025 salary from the Texans, so the risk for the Ravens is minimal in the signing.
