A day after the Cowboys cut kick returner Lucky Whitehead after news got out that there was a warrant for his arrest back in Prince William County, Va., all charges were dropped, and it appears to have been a case of mistaken identity.
On Monday, the Prince William County police released a statement that said there was a shoplifting incident at a convenience store on June 22.
"Following the investigation, the accused, identified as [Whitehead], was charged with petit larceny and released on a court summons," the statement read.
A warrant was issued for Whitehead's arrest after he failed to appear for a court date related to the incident.
