Rockets' Troy Williams making an impression in Rio Grande Valley

The Rockets as expected on Monday signed guard/forward Troy Williams for the remainder of the season, assigning him to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers where he had played through his 10-day contract. They will use the balance of the season to evaluate a talented prospect, but Vipers coach Matt Brase has seen enough to at least form a first impression.

"Very versatile wing," Brase said. "He is a good system fit with the way we play. He has length and athleticism to be a good defender on the perimeter. He handles the ball well and is a very good rim attacker in the halfcourt and in transition.
