Houston Rockets CEO Tad Brown, team employees and alumni were on hand at the Houston Food Bank Tuesday afternoon to participate in a company wide day of service.
"We really are big believers in what the [Houston] Food Bank does," Brown said. "We've been partners and friends in this mission for a long time and it's an honor for us to be here and help out in any way that we can."
Former Rockets Mario Elie, Allen Leavell, Maurice Taylor and Hall of Famer Calvin Murphy were among approximately 170 volunteers donating time to one of the largest food banks in the United States.
