The Rockets on Friday promoted Rafael Stone and Eli Witus, key members of the team's front office with Stone adding the executive vice president of basketball operations title and duties to his role as general counsel and Witus becoming assistant general manager, in addition to his work as executive vice president of basketball operations.
"We are very fortunate to have Rafael and Eli," Rockets general manager Daryl Morey said in a statement. "They work wonderfully together providing strategic insight and analysis. Collectively, they are on the cutting edge of basketball decision-making and have been key to our ability to put the team in the place we are today.
