Rockets guard James Harden on Wednesday went from presumptive NBA MVP to the players’ MVP after the National Basketball Players Association announced in a tweet that Harden had won its MVP award in a vote of member players.
Harden also was the NBPA MVP in 2016, the first season of the players awards. Oklahoma City's Russell Westbrook was the NBPA MVP and the league's MVP last season.
The NBA’s leading scorer this season, averaging 30.4 points to go with 8.8 assists and 5.4 rebounds, Harden had four 50-point games, including the only 60-point triple double in NBA history.
