Rockets center Zhou Qi injured in first preseason game

Rockets center Zhou Qi, playing for the first time in the preseason and against a former China Basketball Association rival, was taken off the court in a wheelchair after injuring his left knee on Tuesday.

Zhou was caught under former Rockets forward Luis Scola while battling for a loose ball. He stayed on the floor motionless with medical attention quickly getting to him to address the obvious injury.

Zhou had not played in the preseason after missing training camp with a sprained ankle and with the Rockets roster crowded with six centers.

With Clint Capela, Isaiah Hartenstein, Marquese Chriss and Nene all out with injuries, the Rockets had hoped to give Zhou an extended look off the bench.
