The Cam Whitmore era in Houston had all but been over for months. On Saturday, the move was officially made.
The Houston Rockets agreed to a deal with the Washington Wizards to send Whitmore to D.C. in exchange for two future second-round picks. ESPN's Shams Charania first reported the news. Whitmore's name had been circulating in various potential deals, as the forward had made it clear that he wasn't happy about his spot on the Rockets' depth chart.
Whitmore, a native of the DMV (born in Odenton, Maryland), will finally get the opportunity with Washington that he was unlikely to get in Houston—a real chance at playing time.
