James Harden pushed Rockets management to fire coach Kevin McHale and then tried to get the team to trade Dwight Howard, according to a column from CBS Sports NBA Insider Ken Berger.
Despite reaching the Western Conference Finals last season, the Rockets fired McHale after limping out of the gate to a 4-7 start this season.
There also were reports that Rockets general manager Daryl Morey tried to deal Howard before last week's trade deadline but couldn't find a suitable swap. Morey has said repeatedly that he listens to trades for all players, but he was never close to trading Howard.
