The Houston Rockets’ offense was slow and stilted for much of their Round 1 series against the Golden State Warriors, with a poor shooting effort from seemingly the entire roster dooming Ime Udoka’s team in Game 7. One Rockets player, in particular, drew significant criticism for his elimination-game no-show.
Houston guard Jalen Green scored just eight points on eight shots in Sunday’s 103-89 loss at Toyota Center. This slim output continued a concerning trend for the 2021 No. 2 overall pick. Green scored in single digits in all four of Houston’s losses in this series. He was more of a complementary piece than any kind of force, consistently passing the ball and exiting the play after a stream of double teams.
