NBA draft: Markelle Fultz goes to Philadelphia at No. 1

When the 76ers traded up to get the top pick from Boston, they had a player in mind: Markelle Fultz, the 6-4 point guard from Washington.

At 6:40 p.m. Thursday, after taking only four of their allotted five minutes, the 76ers made it official, selecting Fultz.

The Sixers had the No. 1 pick last year as well, and went with Ben Simmons of LSU.

At No. 2, the Lakers didn't have any surprises, either, as they went with Lonzo Ball, a 6-6 point guard from UCLA.
