At certain points between 2018 and 2020, Danuel House looked like the present and future for the Rockets at the small forward position. Now, he just seems like the odd man out, still youthful, but stuck in limbo and clearly not a part of the franchise’s future plans.
With the youth movement now underway in Houston, the 28-year-old House simply no longer fits. The team’s future at the position appears to be reserved by forwards Jae’Sean Tate and K.J. Martin. Rugged forward David Nwaba, recently re-signed this summer, adds depth and any veteran leadership which may be needed as the team navigates the early years of rebuilding.
