ESPN's Jay Bilas called Whitmore "an absolute steal" for the Rockets during the television broadcast, as basketball pundits and fans searched for an answer as to why he fell so far in the draft. During an appearance on The Bill Simmons Podcast last week, Tate Frazier suggested that Villanova coach Kyle Neptune might have played a part in this.
"I heard his coach didn't really stick up for him," Frazier said.
In Sunday's episode of the show, Ryen Russillo pointed to the medical concerns teams had as a potential tiebreaker when comparing Whitmore to other prospects, while acknowledging that he has heard similar things as Frazier.
