With so many former Suns players on the roster, Austin Rivers said the Rockets "are basically the Phoenix Rockets." But for all the familiar faces – coach Mike D'Antoni, player development coach Irv Roland, Gerald Green, P.J. Tucker, Marquese Chriss, Brandon Knight and former Arizona State star James Harden – Rivers is the most recent Suns player with the Rockets. He just never actually played for them.
Rivers worked out a buyout of his contract on December after he was dealt along with Kelly Oubre to Phoenix for Trevor Ariza, but said the Suns were quickly cooperative with his desire to move to a playoff team.
