The Clippers have signed former Houston Rockets big man Chuck Hayes, just days after he decided he wouldn't get the playing time he wanted in Houston.
Hayes is now the second big man Los Angeles has brought in that has intimate knowledge of the Rockets' system after they signed Josh Smith several weeks ago.
The Clippers do need more big man depth, but head coach and general manager Doc Rivers appear to be targeting former Rockets players, perhaps hoping to give them some inside scoop on another Western Conference contender.
