Rockets News: NBA says wrong call on Dwight Howard's 6th foul

In Rockets news today, the NBA has officially come out and stated that the sixth foul called on Houston Rockets superstar Dwight Howard late in Sunday's game was incorrect.

Per the Associated Press story, "the All-Star center should have received two free throws that could have given the Rockets the lead."

With 10.8 seconds left in overtime of Sunday's opening game of the Western Conference quarterfinals against the Portland Trail-Blazers, Howard was called for his sixth and final foul when attempting to clean up the boards on a James Harden missed three-point attempt.

Portland's Joel Freeland clearly wrapped his arm around Howard, attempting to pull Howard out of position -- yet Howard was assessed the foul which swung the play and the game in the favor of the Blazers.

NBA president of operations Rod Thorn released a statement on Monday confirming that it was the incorrect call. No further action has been revealed as of this writing.
