U.S. women rout Panama in CONCACAF Olympic qualifier

U.S. women’s national team coach Vlatko Andonovski wanted to see more after his team defeated Haiti by four in its opening game of CONCACAF Olympic qualifying on Tuesday. On Friday, the team responded, scoring four in the first half of its 8-0 win over Panama at BBVA Stadium.

The United States scored three times in the first 15 minutes.

Following a pass into the area, a Panamanian defender stumbled over the ball as goalkeeper Yenith Bailey slid out to corral it. But neither secured it, leaving the ball out on a silver platter for Lindsey Horan to run on to it in what amounted to a penalty shot in the third minute.
