The Houston Dynamo dropped their first match to rivals FC Dallas in 2016, but it came at a costly time as it ended their Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup run in the quarterfinals.
Fabian Castillo scored a winner a minute into second-half stoppage time, as FC Dallas edged the Dynamo, 1-0, in a U.S. Open Cup quarterfinal bout on Wednesday night. The Colombian winger scored at BBVA Compass Stadium in Houston, Texas, on an individual effort, dribbling across and into the penalty area before beating Joe Willis with a shot to the near post.
Willis will likely be thinking he could have done better on the game's decisive play, but came up big twice before to keep the Dynamo on even terms.
