On November 13th, Houston Dynamo FC and Southern New Hampshire University partnered to host 21 students from Northside High School as part of the “Rompe Las Barreras” (Break the Barriers) program. The program gives students from Hispanic communities an opportunity to shadow staff members from a professional organization to gain a better understanding of different career options available. This year, due to COVID-19, the event was virtual and moderated by Lester Gretsch.
Participating students were able to hear from and ask questions to Dynamo and Dash front office staff members from various departments via Zoom including:
- Stadium Operations- Jose Arroyo
- Partnership Marketing – Edwin Sanchez
- Ticket Sales and Service – Marcel Reyes
- Digital Marketing – Dorian Valenzuela
- Design Services – Bryan Salas
“It’s the third year we’ve been a part of this great program, and it’s great giving the students from Northside High School a glimpse of what it takes to run a professional soccer team,” Sanchez said after the virtual event.
