Recap: Houston Dynamo 2, Montreal Impact 1

Mauro Manotas scored in the 86th minute to stretch his league goals run to five matches and lift the Houston Dynamo to a 2-1 victory over the Montreal Impact on Saturday at BBVA Compass Stadium.

Memo Rodriguez also scored on a ferocious strike from distance before halftime, which rested several of its regular starters ahead of the second leg of their Concacaf Champions League quarterfinal against Tigres UANL on Tuesday in Mexico.

Coach Wilmer Cabrera also brought on others like Alberth Elis and Romell Quioto after halftime, with Quioto providing the service for Manotas' first-time winner. That sealed Houston's maiden victory of the 2019 season after opening with a home draw against Real Salt Lake.
