The Houston Dynamo defeated FC Dallas 2-1 in the first meeting of 2019 between the in-state rivals at BBVA Compass Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Mauro Manotas scored twice to provide the advantage, converting a penalty kick in the first half and then finishing a brilliant team counter attack in the second half. FC Dallas cut the lead in half via Dominique Badji in the 87th minute, but that was all they could muster.
