RECAP: Dynamo open MLS Is Back Tournament with 3-3 Draw against Los Angeles FC

The Houston Dynamo raced to a 3-1 halftime lead and held on late for a 3-3 draw against the defending MLS Supporters Shield winners Los Angeles Football Club tonight at the Disney Wide World of Sports Complex.

The match was Houston’s first competitive fixture in 128 days and was both teams’ first in Group F play at the MLS Is Back Tournament.

Midfielder Memo Rodriguez scored twice for the Dynamo, his second career multi-goal game, and forward Darwin Quintero notched his first two assists for Houston after joining the club over the offseason. Forward Alberth Elis scored his first goal of the 2020 campaign, giving him 31 in his career and moving him into a tie with Giles Barnes for fifth on the club’s all-time scoring chart.
