The Houston Dynamo played a man down for more than 45 minutes in the second half, but still emerged with a 2-0 win over in-state rival FC Dallas tonight at BBVA Stadium.
Goalkeeper Marko Mariu0107 kept the clean sheet, recording a season-best eight saves to earn Man of the Match honors, while forward Darwin Quintero and midfielder Darwin Cerén each found the net.
The Dynamo opened the scoring in the 20th minute when Quintero fired a left-footed shot into the back of the net from 12 yards. Forward Ari Lassiter created the opportunity when he stripped a Dallas defender of the ball 25 yards from goal and quickly slipped a pass to Quintero in the middle of the area.
