Houston Dynamo FC midfielders Boniek Garcia and Memo Rodriguez were named to the MLSsoccer.com Team of the Week after leading the club to three points in the opening game of the 2021 regular season.
Houston opened the regular season with a 2-1 victory over the San Jose Earthquakes last Friday at BBVA Stadium and Garcia kicked off his 10th season with the club as a defender, a first for the Honduran international, who joined the Dynamo as a brash attacking winger in 2012. A series of injuries forced Dynamo head coach Tab Ramos to reshuffle his backline and insert Garcia at center back.
