The Houston Dynamo fended off an opportunistic Vancouver Whitecaps FC team to win its second consecutive MLS game, 3-2, at BBVA Compass Stadium on Saturday.
Houston's forwards made the difference in the game.
Forward Alberth Elis, who's played in every game across all competitions for the Dynamo (2-0-1; 7 points) this year, had yet to score in 2019.
On Saturday, he appeared intent to change that.
Five minutes into the match, he had two chances; first, when his shot floated too high, then again when he struggled to corral a long ball with a step on his marking defender.
