By the time the first week of preseason training ends this weekend, Mana Shim will have been with the Dash the same amount of time as she was during her first stint four years ago.
The difference is this time she’s actually in Houston.
Formerly of Portland, Shim first showed up on the Dash roster when she got picked in the 2014 Expansion Draft. One week later, the Dash traded the midfielder back to Portland.
“(That week in 2014) was mostly just conversations,” Shim said. “Everyone was super welcoming, but I didn’t come down here.”
Four years later, Shim is back in Houston and has been offered a contract for 2018.
