The Houston Dynamo acquired defender Zarek Valentin in a trade with Nashville SC, both clubs announced today.
The Dynamo agreed to send goalkeeper Joe Willis to Nashville and could receive an additional $75,000 in 2021 Targeted Allocation Money based on performance incentives in 2020. Prior to trading Valentin to Houston, Nashville acquired the defender from Portland with their second pick in the 2019 MLS Expansion Draft.
“We’re very pleased to add Zarek to our roster as we prepare for the 2020 season. He’s a player who has consistently performed well every time he’s competed against us,” said Dynamo Senior Vice President and General Manager Matt Jordan.
