When news broke on Wednesday that Atlanta United FC’s prize transfer Ezequiel Barco suffered a hamstring injury and will miss up to six weeks, fans around MLS reacted passionately.
They were sad. They were distraught. They were angry.
Atlanta spent an MLS-record $15 million to acquire the 18-year old Argentinian midfielder. Barco is expected to be a big contributor as Atlanta takes even more positive steps in 2018 than it did during its expansion season in 2017.
If there could be any beneficiary from the injury, it is Atlanta’s opponents, but Dynamo coach Wilmer Cabrera is not walking around with an extra hop in his step.
