As someone who has been to a Dynamo game, eighth grader Jason Diaz knows it is a treat to watch Alberth Elis play live. Little did Diaz know, it would be even sweeter to actually meet him in person.
Diaz was one of 80 middle school students from Las Americas Newcomer School on Thursday who were treated to a private screening of Black Panther thanks to Elis, who is nicknamed La Panterita.
Elis, the Dynamo’s electric forward who often can be found hunting the opponent’s goal, came up with the idea. On Thursday, he delivered.
“This is amazing,” Diaz said.
