Two steps forward, one step back for the Houston Dash in the NWSL Challenge Cup. As good as Houston looked in their last outing against OL Reign, when they earned a win and a clean sheet, they looked just as discombobulated against Sky Blue. The New Jersey team came in to the game against Houston without a goal in the tournament. In a game they should have won the Dash lost 2-0. Sky Blue won by multiple goals for the first time since 2017, with nine shots, six on target, and two goals. Instead of taking hold of second place in the standings, the Dash now find themselves tied with four other teams.
