Seattle Sounders FC completed their 2018 sweep of the Houston Dynamo with a 3-2 win at BBVA Compass Stadium on Sunday.
Seattle (17-11-5; 56 points) took the lead about two-thirds of the way through an up-tempo first half, which saw plenty of opportunities as each side raced up and down the field.
Through the first 10 minutes, Houston defended Seattle's early advances before flipping the field to create their own attacking chances.
DaMarcus Beasley rocketed a shot from deep that pegged the mezzanine bar, Alberth Elis directed an assertive header toward goal but it floated over the crossbar; then in the 23rd minute Elis veered right toward the box before tapping a quick pass left to a slanting Mauro Manotas, who missed wide.
