One shot on goal was all the Chicago Red Stars needed to hand the Dash their third straight loss.
That shot came in the seventh minute off the foot of midfielder Katie Johnson, who squeezed a low ball through the left side to score not only what would be the game-winning goal, but her first goal in a Red Stars uniform.
The Red Stars (5-5-2) defeated the Dash (3-5-4) by a score of 1-0 on Saturday at BBVA Stadium in front of a season-high attendance of 5,327 fans.
In the first half, Chicago didn't see much action near the goal aside from the lone score.
