Dash goalkeeper Bianca Henninger, who played for the United States at the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup, has accepted a call up to the Mexican women's national team for the upcoming CONCACAF Women's Olympic Qualifying Championship.
Although Henninger is a native of California, she qualifies for the senior Mexican national team because her mother and grandmother were born in the state of Sonora. Players can switch alliances even though they represented one country at youth tournaments as long as they haven't represented a senior national team.
Henninger, 25, is the latest Dash player added to a national team roster for the Olympic qualifying tournament, which begins next week at Houston's BBVA Compass Stadium and Frisco's Toyota Stadium.
