DaMarcus Beasley teams up with Dynamo to expand soccer in Houston

Recently retired from professional soccer, USMNT and Houston Dynamo icon DaMarcus Beasley has partnered with Dynamo co-owners Jake Silverstein and Ben Guill to build 15 mini-pitches across the city and region. Originally reported by the Houston Chronicle, Beasley and the Dynamo co-owners are also working with the U.S. Soccer Foundation, part of a national initiative to increase playing areas by the time the US, Canada, and Mexico will co-host the World Cup.

The mini-pitches are reportedly the size of basketball courts and will be hard surface. The first three pitches are scheduled to open this coming spring.
