CONCACAF Champions League win gives Dynamo crucial cushion

Eighty-three minutes into the first leg of their CONCACAF Champions League series with two-time defending Guatemalan champion CD Guastatoya, the Dynamo appeared to be on pace for a draw.

But moments later, forward Romell Quioto lobbed a corner kick to the far post where the ball was headed away. It found the right foot of captain DaMarcus Beasley near the edge of the box, where he rifled the ball into the back corner of the net then ran to embrace Quioto. Houston won 1-0.

“We didn't give them many chances and that's what we wanted to do tonight as a defense, was limit their chances and get a zero on the road," defender A.
