Dash forwards Janine Beckie and Nichelle Prince were announced as two of the Canada Soccer Association's 10 subsidized players for the 2017 NWSL season.
The salaries of subsidized (formerly allocated) players are paid by their national team federations, meaning they are free players for their clubs and do not count against their club's salary cap.
The United States and Mexico also pay salaries of select players each season but have not yet announced which players will be included.
"We are very appreciative of and excited by Canada Soccer's continued support of the league as well as the meaningful impact their players are having on and off the field," NWSL Commissioner Jeff Plush said.
