1967 - Gotay day

Filling in on the roster for Joe Morgan while on military leave, Houston Astros infielder Julio Gotay had a career day at the plate, going 5-for-5, including hitting in the game-tying run to send the game into extras, but it wasn’t enough for the win, still losing to the St. Louis Cardinals 5-4 in 11 innings.

1972 - Larry Dierker one-hitter

Astros pitcher Larry Dierker tossed a one-hitter to blank the New York Mets 3-0. The only blemish on Dierker’s day came in the third when a single put the only runner on base for the Mets in the game.
