1967 - Astros end their losing streak

With help from Joe Morgan’s five-run game against the St. Louis Cardinals, the Astros end their ten-game losing streak with a 6-4 win. This ends the longest losing streak since 1963.

1983 - The new strikeout king

In a game against the Montreal Expos, Houston Astros starter Nolan Ryan broke Walter Johnson’s strikeout record, fanning the 3,509th batter of his career. It took Ryan nearly 2,500 less innings to accomplish this feat.
