Storm causes temporary minor flooding at Minute Maid Park

The storm that hit downtown Saturday afternoon caused minor flooding at Minute Maid Park.

The Astros said two different areas of the stadium concourse endured minor flooding because of drainage issues.

It was cleared within five or six minutes, the club said after the 3-0 victory over the White Sox.

With the storm pounding Minute Maid Park, public address announcer Bob Ford informed fans before the eighth inning that they could stay inside the stadium as long as necessary Saturday night. Hundreds of fans took the Astros up on the offer.
