Springer is back in the dugout after exiting the game after being hit by a pitch.

Everything has worked for the Astros during their four-game series with the Athletics entering Thursday. It only took five pitches on Thursday to change that.

A’s starting pitcher Jesse Hahn hit Astros outfielder George Springer with a 92-MPH fastball in the first inning. Springer crumbled to the ground in pain, favoring his left hand. He would exit the game after being examined by manager A.J. Hinch and head athletic trainer Jeremiah Randall.

The ball glances off Springer’s front shoulder hit and then hit Springer’s left hand square.

The X-Rays of Springer’s hand were negative and the Astros outfielder returned to the dugout during Thursday’s game.
